Unlocking the “Zone”: The Power of Rituals and Routines for Teenage Hockey Players

Hey, hockey warriors! Today, we’re cracking the mysteries of rituals and routines

I learned “I could consciously decide whether I am following my heart and who I am.” | If I could be more mindful “the possibilities are endless.” | This is similar to what is taught in the Aboriginal culture. | The seven levels of energy “breaks it down so everyone can understand”… | “The energy levels were very cool to learn about.”

What is COR.E Performance Dynamics?

COR.E Performance Dynamics is a coaching program designed to help individuals and organizations achieve their full potential. It is based on the idea that there are certain "core energies" that drive human behavior and performance, and that by understanding and optimizing these energies, individuals and organizations can improve their overall performance.

The program is based on the principles of neuroscience, psychology, energy management, performance science, and it is designed to help people understand their motivations, beliefs, and behaviors.

The program includes assessments that help individuals and organizations identify their strengths and weaknesses, as well as tools and techniques to help them improve their performance. These tools may include goal-setting, visualization, mindfulness, meditation, and other techniques that are designed to help individuals and organizations achieve their objectives.

Overall, COR.E Performance Dynamics is a comprehensive coaching program that is designed to help people unlock their full potential and achieve their goals in their athletic, personal, and professional lives.

I attended a camp a few years ago when Walt lectured about the mental part of the game. A lot of what Walt said really struck a chord with me. I've sent a number of my goalies to work with Walt since then.

Walt spoke at my Pacific District High Performance Goalie Camp this year. Again, so many of the topics Walt discussed resonated with me. I will say that the majority of the 36 goalies that attended the camp listened intently to Walt's remarks. I'll contend that goaltender is the hardest position to play mentally, aside from NFL quarterback. Both the body and the mind need to be strengthened. Walt is aware of the mental preparation needed to handle the pressure of playing goalie.

"Be aware and conscious as you perform. Don’t just do your best.

Be Present, Be Powerful, Be You!

Energy is the key driver to performance. Our thoughts create this energy. Our ability to engage our energy in the moment increases our awareness and consciousness, this allows us to be able to play up to our maximum potential on any given day.

Whitecourt Wolverines Goaltender Ben Charette has captured the “Friends of Alberta Junior Hockey League” award as the AJHL’s top goaltender this year. Voted on by the coaches/GM’s across the league, Ben put together a phenomenal season for the Whitecourt Wolverines capturing 20 wins and 4 shutouts while leading the league in both GAA (2.40) and SV% (.925).

Dustin Wolf named to the AHL’s All-Star Classic!

Wolf is still one of the best goalies in the AHL halfway through the season. He's also played in a few NHL games and didn't seem out of place when he has. He has played in 21 AHL games and is 15-5-1 with four shutouts, a 2.30 goals against average, and a .930 save percentage.
